Cambridge, UK - Camrivox Ltd, an innovator and developer of Unified Communications (UC) software has secured additional funding to accelerate development of the company’s Flexor UC platform to support mobile telephony, bringing the benefits of UC to a truly mobile workforce.
Fixed and mobile UC enables a single integrated communications channel for a range of communications devices including mobile phone, PDA, desk phone or PC soft phone. This brings a company’s workforce closer together regardless of where they are, and ensures more consistent customer communications.
Camrivox revolutionised CTI by uniquely delivering it direct to the desktop, bypassing costly servers and IT infrastructure. Now, the company has taken that one step further, bringing advanced call management, presence and analytics to users across all devices and applications.
In challenging times, the pressure is on the SMB sector to maximise customer relationships whilst reducing operating costs and minimising capital outlay. Flexor UC will allow them to compete at a higher level, not only bringing full-feature UC across all devices, but seamlessly integrating that with their Software as a Service (SaaS) CRM applications, all without the costly IT infrastructure upgrades traditionally required.
Substantial cost savings of up to 80% compared to traditional PBX routes make UC accessible to far more companies – ensuring they reap the benefits without the initial capital outlay, further boosting ROI not only of their telephony system but also existing software applications such as Microsoft Outlook, Salesforce, NetSuite and Dynamics CRM.
“It’s all about helping end users achieve more with their current solutions by integrating our software tools. In this economic climate, businesses cannot invest in expensive network hardware or PBX systems,” explains John Porter, VP Marketing for Camrivox. “If you want the productivity gains from UC on any phone there’s no need to waste your budget changing or upgrading your telephony solution.”
“The timing is perfect for Camrivox to help its partner ecosystem to accelerate change and avoid the expense of upgrading hardware PBX and network systems: just as businesses are forced to cut resources and IT costs they need to boost productivity and customer management to enhance their competitive edge” said Ajay Vohora of CREATE, a venture capital fund manager who co-led the funding round with partners NESTA and continued backing provided by Camrivox Chairman, Dr Phil O’Donovan.
"The Flexor UC platform harnesses the power of software to streamline how a mobile workforce communicates and opens up new possibilities," explains Jonathan Custance, CTO for Camrivox. "It's very satisfying to accelerate the roll-out of our applications on the Camrivox technology roadmap because this enables our PBX, OEM, and ITSP partners to immediately start offering greater flexibility and real performance improvements to business users."
Flexor UC for fixed and mobile applications will be available in Q2 2009.
