VON Europe, Berlin, 6th November 2006 Camrivox™ a developer of VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) equipment, has launched its Flexor™ 500 IP phone that brings advanced capabilities to small and medium sized businesses.
“The Flexor 500 is a step ahead of current IP phones, while also being easier to set up than any other comparable phone,” said David Moorhouse, VP of marketing at Camrivox. “This means that organisations of all sizes can benefit from the features previously associated only with enterprise-level VoIP installations.”
The Flexor 500 is a multi-line Voice over IP telephone that seamlessly integrates with IP PBX, soft switches and hosted VoIP services. Advanced Computer Telephony Integration (CTI) features include address book synchronisation with Microsoft Outlook, “click to dial” and on-screen caller ID on the PC.
Dedicated keys provide direct access to most audio and call control functions and an intuitive user interface, using a large backlit graphical LCD display, makes this an easy to use product. The Flexor 500 offers superb sound quality when using the handset, hands free speakerphone or headset, with voice quality ensured by Camrivox’s advanced QoS features.
For operators, the Flexor 500 supports Camrivox’s zero touch scalable provisioning, allowing operators to deploy without ever “touching” the device; this further reduces roll-out costs. Automatic set-up means users do not have to do any configuration or set-up, which reduces support calls and hence cost. Like all Camrivox products, the Flexor 500 supports operator branding of the phone LCD display and the embedded web pages.
At the VON Europe show, Camrivox is also announcing its new Flexor 201 telephony adapter, which allows analogue telephone handsets to be used to make VoIP calls. The new adapter allows two handsets to be connected simultaneously, and complements Camrivox’s existing Flexor 151 telephony adapter.
Founded in Cambridge by a highly-experienced team, Camrivox simplifies Internet telephony by delivering easy to use, high functionality, low cost products for home and small business customers. By being simple to install and use, the company’s products will help keep operator support costs low and drive mass market adoption of VoIP (predicted by IDC Research to reach 100 million subscribers by 2008). Camrivox’s products will also provide innovative features that take advantage of the potential of VoIP, going beyond the simple products currently available.
