
Dr Phil O'Donovan is a Co-Founder of CSR plc and has worked for nearly 30 years in the telecommunications industry in both small and large companies. Phil now works with the founders, boards and management of both venture-backed companies and those seeking to make investments. He holds BSc, MSc and PhD degrees (all in electrical engineering), is a Fellow of the Institute of Electrical Engineers and is a Royal Academy of Engineering MacRobert Gold Medal winner.
Malcolm has over 30 years experience in the electronics and communications industry in senior management positions in Europe and USA. Malcolm started his management career at Marconi, from there he joined the management-buyout team at Airtech, as Managing Director, who later took the company to an AIM listing in 1996 following growth from £5m to £25m. He moved to America with Airtech to spearhead the international development of the company in the US, China, Korea, and Malaysia.
Malcolm left Airtech to join ADC Telecommunication where he performed a turnaround function as President of the loss-making ADC Wireless division in San Diego which was subsequently sold. In 1999 Malcolm joined the dot com world where he raised $40m for a startup called Littlefeet. Littlefeet unfortunately never reached its objectives as a company due to technical and market difficulties experienced by many companies at that time. Following this Malcolm ran the sales, marketing and the strategy arm of WFI inc. a 2000 man $300m turnover outsourcing company which, based on performance, added $200m to it's market capitalization. Malcolm returned to the UK in 2005.
Jonathan has over 12 years experience in software development, architecture and management of complex software projects involving partners and 3rd party technology suppliers. Jonathan was previously with Conexant Systems and lead key technical projects, for example, creating voice and triple-play products for leading customers worldwide, including Yahoo Broadband in Japan.
James has 10 years experience of software development, specializing in embedded applications. James previously held the position of Voice/Video Manager and Team Leader at Conexant systems. James lead cross-site teams developing multimedia applications using VoIP, video-on-demand, and triple-play technologies. He has experience of working with major Telcos world wide to define product requirements, through to working with volume equipment manufacturers to productize the solution before deployment.
Rebecca has over 12 years experience working in finance with emerging technologies and in emerging markets. She spent 7 years with PricewaterhouseCoopers in Cambridge and Sydney, advising start up companies on business and financing transactions. Returning to Cambridge in 2001, Rebecca worked in an international finance department for a clinical trials company, and was involved with the establishment of that company's Asian presence. Prior to joining Camrivox she acted as a financial and business consultant to SMEs in technology sectors.
John has 20 years experience in Telecoms and Networking working with manufacturers and channel. He spent 14 years with Dialogic (formerly Eicon Networks) managing global marketing teams with a focus on hardware and software for Voice, VoIP, Unified Communications and Service Provider solutions. Before joining Camrivox, John was providing consultancy to help businesses expanding into the UK and to open up new channels for them.
